How It Works

The Arctic Mullet features a patent-pending rear cooling compartment positioned directly over the back of your neck — where your carotid arteries run close to the skin. Cooling this zone is the most efficient way to lower your core body temperature. Load the compartment with a standard gel ice pack or loose ice, zip it up, and the hat delivers sustained cervical cooling for up to 90 minutes.

The compartment is designed to fit a standard 4" × 7" gel ice pack — the most widely available size, found at any pharmacy, grocery store, or sporting goods retailer. You can also use loose ice cubes. The waterproof-lined interior keeps moisture contained.

Approximately 90 minutes per ice load under typical outdoor conditions. Duration varies based on ambient temperature, sun exposure, and activity level. When the ice melts, simply drain, reload, and you're back to full cooling capacity.

The cooling compartment features a waterproof-lined interior and a sealed zipper closure. Under normal use, the compartment is leak-resistant. As with any ice-based product, some condensation on the exterior fabric is normal.

No. The Arctic Mullet requires zero electronics. No batteries, no charging, no failure points. It works in rain, mud, and extreme heat without any maintenance or power source. Ice is the only fuel it needs.
